GUESS WHO’S BOARDING THE SHIP? JOIN US…

July: BEACH READS YOU CAN’T MISS

July is going to be a HUGE month for the ship because we don’t have just two guests, but three. If you’re hitting the beach at all this summer, you should take their books with you. Come read our interview with these diverse authors to see why!

We’re starting out the month of July (July 1 to be exact!) with a bang—and so is Kimberly Killion, who is debuting her first historical, Her One Desire. We have an escaped Scottish warrior, an executioner’s daughter out to clear her father’s name, and bad guys to make you bite your nails to the quick. Kimberly has blithely agreed to an interview with the crew—and before she realizes what she’s done and also makes a run for the border, we’re going to ask her some questions about her delicious heroes and how it feels to finally be published.

Dee S. Knight has graciously agreed to return on July 11th to talk about her new book, Burning Bridges. This will be under Dee’s alter ego: Anne Krist. (We pirates totally understand having more than one alias!) Anne’s books are sensual, but sweeter…and full of the AWE FACTOR. For those of you who love reunion stories and characters you feel you know better than your own family, this is THE book. This book will break your heart, then miraculously put it back together better than before.

Megan Kelly is rocking the ship on July 15, talking about her new Harlequin American Romance, The Fake Fiancee. This story is for all the moms out there who give all to their families. The hero is trying to avoid his matchmaking mama by bringing home a fake fiancee; and the heroine agrees to pose as his soon-to-be wife in order to earn money to get her son into a special program. If you like your stories sweeter, your characters more real–Megan is the author you need to add to your list of must-haves. Plus Megan and Hellion used to be in the same local writing chapter–total “dish the dirt” potential!

August: The HOTTEST Month for New Releases and Guest Appearances

Captain Jack Sparrow is proud and excited to announce: Teresa Medeiros on August 12th! Jack insisted on being the one to do the interview (so be warned) and Teresa graciously agreed to come aboard to dish about her new book, Some Like It Wicked, writing, conferences, and Jack Sparrow. If you like your heroes mad, bad, and dangerous to know…and you like your books Scottish, this is the book you’ll be taking to the beach this summer. It has been getting rave reviews, including from Publishers Weekly.

Do you like your humor with a dash of danger? Of course, you do. How about demons? Me, too! Come join us August 19th, when Angie Fox, author of The Accidental Demon Slayer, drinks some rum with us and tells us what it’s really like in the trenches of being newly published and promoting a book that features a pre-school teacher who discovers a demon in her toilet (he just showed up!), must deal with the knowledge she’s a demon slayer (her biker grandma broke the news to her), and soon finds herself attracted to a gorgeous shape-shifting griffin whose motto in life is “I’d lie to you for your love…and your ability to kill demons.” Who doesn’t appreciate a book featuring a heroine who has more problems than you? Come join us and drink up. You’re going to love this!

On August 26th, check your clip and ready your techy-gadgets, Leslie Langtry is returning to the ship to kickoff her blog tour for her new release, Stand By Your Hitman. Missy, the creator of all those fun and techy weapons of…er…mass destruction, is about to meet her match, while forced to participate in a reality TV-show, a Survivor knock-off, called Survival. Will Missy ever forgive her mother for instigating this little bit of heaven? Visit with Leslie as she deftly fields the endless questions from her two favorite stalkers, Sin and Hellion.

Candace Camp will join us August 29th to talk about her latest book in her Matchmakers series, The Wedding Challenge. She’ll talk with us about writing historicals, series, and what type of hero and heroine she enjoys reading most. She’s Famous–it’s like having Anne Bonney blog with us!

SEPTEMBER

FOREWARNED: September 17th, put down your drinks and food-stuffs before reading the blog. Funny authors, Christie Craig and Faye Hughes will be seriously talking about their new book: The Everything Guide to Writing a Romance Novel. Available for pre-order, now, just saying. They will definitely cover all the ins and outs to getting your book done, and teach these pirates a thing or two about character motivation, conflict, and using description and setting to your best advantage.

To round out our month, things get a little spooky when Mindy Klasky interviews about the third book in her trilogy, Magic and the Modern Girl. And if you haven’t read the other two yet, you definitely need to: Sorcery and the Single Girl and Girl’s Guide to Witchcraft. Very funny, very sexy…and I seriously want me some more of her Ward (protector), David. Yum. Be sure to join us September 30 to celebrate the lauch of the third book and to discuss…all things spooky, like writing!
